New Self-Service Order Products Save Time & Help Staff meet Demand

Rochester, NY July 20, 2021 – Microworks POS Solutions announces new products and services designed to address short-staffed restaurants with high-demand self-service Kiosk Ordering Stations and QR Ordering and Payments.

With a Kiosk in place customers can save time by skipping the line at the counter and ordering directly via the Kiosk. Each station is loaded with the restaurant’s unique WebOrder™ menu, which allows customers to order and pay directly on screen.

QR Ordering provides customers with a way to place orders and pay via their mobile devices simply by scanning a QR Code. Restaurants can place pre-printed table tents with instructions and a QR Code, or servers can leave a printed QR Receipt with the guests at the table. Guests can easily scan, order and pay without waiting for staff, especially during understaffed and peak meal times.

“Self-service options have allowed restaurants to more easily meet order demands even with reduced staffing levels. It’s a great way to allow customers to choose how they order and frees them from the need to wait for staff to take their orders,” said Scott Paratore, owner of Microworks. “Taking advantage of our WebOrder platform, restaurants can receive in-house and take-out orders that feed directly into the Prism POS system, reducing the reliance on staff, especially now when the availability of labor and employees has been hit hard.”

Restaurant owners can leverage their existing Prism POS System to integrate with WebOrder Online Ordering, and now offer QR Ordering and Payments, and/or self-service Kiosks. WebOrder via QR Code or Kiosk gives owners the ability to leverage their existing menu, pricing and mobile user interface. This allows customers to place orders to be delivered right to their table or for take-out.

Customers love self-service options and the ability to order quickly and receive their orders faster. And with the increase in table turnover rates and reduced waiting time, restaurants can increase the number of customers they can serve, regardless of staff levels. Customers can order and pay right away or leave the check open until they are ready to close out their order and pay.

Scott added, “The convenience factor has really been at the forefront of demand, but adding products and services that help alleviate staffing level issues has really made a difference to our customers.”

New and Enhanced Features

Rochester, NY August 10, 2020 – Microworks POS Solutions announces new features and enhancements to existing products as well as new hardware for secure payment processing. With the increase in curbside orders and delivery, it's crucial to provide safe, contactless options for customers to order food and have it safely delivered, or pick up themselves without increased risk.

Scott Paratore, owner of Microworks stated, "We have been working hard creating tools to help get our customers through this difficult and disruptive time. Because the pandemic has created new customer requirements for safely ordering out, a need for more tools became evident." The enhancements and new features will help with these new ways restaurants want to meet their customers' needs. The new and improved features will help restaurants increase sales and customer satisfaction, while providing a safe, secure transaction.

Improvements have been made to RapidRun, enhanced Real Time Order Status, created a Prism Notification Service, as well as hardware and software options that integrate with Prism POS to make it seamless to Pay-At-The-Table (PATT) and Pay-At-The-Door (PATD).

Real Time Driver Location and Order Status

WebOrder online ordering allows customers to order via the restaurant’s menu website and track driver location in real time, as well as communicate with the store and delivery driver via SMS.  Driver communication is both automated and as needed via the RapidRun Delivery App. This is especially important for contactless deliveries. Drivers can let the customer know the order was delivered with an SMS text notification. Once delivered, RapidRun will automatically text the next order on the list that their food is on the way.

With Real Time Driver Location, customers can see where there order is in the preparation and delivery stage. They can view their driver’s location on a map to track the delivery. Additionally, icons display to show the order is sending, received, in prep, ready for delivery or pick-up, and complete.

If a customer has enabled SMS messaging, the Prism Notification Service will send order status and messaging to the customer, which they can reply to, as well as alert the store when they arrive for a pick up order.

Order Throttling

Due to the high demand for online ordering for delivery, curbside and takeout orders, you can now control order volume by limiting the number of orders allowed through WebOrder at a given time. Set volume by order type, number of orders, and time slots. Order throttling allows restaurants to control the flow of orders to not extend delivery or kitchen time, or be overwhelmed by high order volume. When set the customer will be prompted to try for the next available time slot to schedule their order.
