Side Lists

Side Lists are comprised of menu items that have been setup as available side options to other menu items.  This is generally used in cases where dinners come with various choices of side items.

To setup a menu item to be used exclusively as a side item, simply create a new menu item - see Menu Items Overview.  New menus created by the Microworks menu team have all side items in a separate Menu Group, often called "sides GROUP".  New side items should be added to this group if applicable.  If no such group exists it is good practice to create one; that way your side-only items don't get confused with your regular menu items.  However, regular menu items can be attached to a Side List as well if you so choose.

List Name

This is the name you'll specify for this side list.

Inactive

If this option is selected, the Side List will no longer be displayed on the ordering screen when a menu item that is using this specific list is selected.  This is often a better option than deleting the list, as an inactive list can be reactivated easily if there is a need to use the list again down the road.

Auto-Show

If this option is selected, the Side List will automatically be displayed on the ordering screen when a menu item that is using this specific list is selected.  If it is not selected, the order taker must press the Modify button to access the list.

Price Roll-Up Override

If a side item has a separate price assigned, that price is broken out on the ticket by default.  This option, when selected, will add that separate price to the base price of the menu item.
