Advanced Kitchen Printing

Advanced Kitchen Printing is used for four different purposes:  The ability to print items as Secondary (see below), the ability to print items to multiple kitchen printers at once, the ability to print items differently based on order type, and the ability to print items differently based on level.

For most new systems, Advanced Kitchen Printing is disabled by default.  If the "Adv. Kitchen" tab of the Menu Item window is grayed out, it must be enabled by Microworks Tech Support.

Add

The Add Printer option will create a new printer selection drop-down box where you'll choose to which printer this item should print.  Multiple printers can be assigned to the same item.  In the example above, the item will print as Primary to the KP1 and KP2 printers, and Secondary at the KP3 printer (see below).

Remove

Highlight a printer to remove and select this option.

Printer Name

Select the appropriate kitchen printer from this drop-down selection box.

Secondary Item

If selected, this item will only print at the specified printer when a primary menu item is sent to that printer on the same order.  For example, if a customer orders a pizza and wings, you may want your wing station to know that the order has a pizza as well.  However, you would not want a pizza to print at the wing station if no wings were ordered with it.  To do that, you would set the pizza printer as a primary printer on the pizza item (Secondary Item unchecked) and the wing printer as a secondary printer (Secondary Item checked).  Set up in that fashion, the pizza would always print at the pizza printer, but would also print at the wing printer only if wings were ordered.

Order Type

Select the order type from this drop-down selection box.  This designates when this item should print to the respective printer.  If this field is left blank, it is assumed that the item prints to this printer for all order types.

Level

Select the level from the drop-down box.  This designates when this item should print to the respective printer.  If this field is left blank, it is assumed that the item prints to this printer for all levels.  This is an advanced feature of the PrISM system, contact Microworks Tech Support for more information.
